Don’t miss the surge: health tech jobs to watch this fall

Hey Health Techies!
Every September, hiring across industries ticks up as companies return from summer mode with fresh budgets and urgent Q4 goals. In health tech in 2025, the same pattern holds true. Here are the trends we’re seeing in the market that give us a roadmap for exactly who will be hiring and what kinds of roles are in demand as we head into fall.
🔑 How trends translate into jobs
1. AI everywhere → clinical translators & product builders
Trend: AI is the dominant theme (yes, still!)—ambient listening, workflow automation, and decision support are becoming table stakes.
Hiring Impact: Companies need clinical product managers, implementation managers, and user researchers who can bridge the gap between algorithms and real-world workflows. Expect to continue to see a surge in “AI + healthcare” job titles that didn’t exist two years ago.
2. Consumer health & wearables → growth & engagement roles
Trend: From Oura’s next-gen smart ring to DTC platforms from Abbott, Dexcom, and Lilly, consumer-facing health tech is booming.
Hiring Impact: Look for customer success, marketing, and digital engagement roles that focus on onboarding, retention, and building trust with patients. Hardware companies will also pull in UX designers and data analysts to interpret the continued flood of sensor data.
3. Big Tech in healthcare → partnerships & compliance roles
Trend: Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, and Nvidia are embedding healthcare AI into their platforms.
Hiring Impact: Expect partnership managers, compliance/legal specialists, and healthcare solution architects. If you can speak both “EHR” and “cloud,” you’ll be in demand.
4. Funding rebounds, exits resume → startups scaling up
Trend: With $6.4B raised by US health tech companies in the first half of 2025, startups are flush with capital and looking to prove ROI.
Hiring Impact: Early- and growth-stage companies will prioritize sales, biz dev, and customer success hires to show traction quickly. At the same time, Series C+ companies will expand product and operations teams to mature their offerings.
🚀 What this means for clinicians in transition
If you’re a clinician eyeing the September surge, here’s what to watch:
Role hotspots: product management, customer success, implementation, clinical strategy, operations, and data analysis. Admittedly, the roles that I’m always talking about anyway.
Company hotspots: AI-first startups, consumer health platforms, medtech/robotics companies, and the healthcare arms of Big Tech.
Trends to track: AI integration, wearable data, outpatient care growth, and compliance-heavy partnerships.
👉 Ready to stand out in this surge? The roles are out there, but landing them requires more than spotting the trends—it takes a strategy that shows that you can speak the language of health tech even if you’ve only worked clinically in the past. That’s where The Resume Lab comes in. Inside, you’ll learn how to translate your clinical experience into the skills these companies are desperate to hire for, so when September’s surge hits, you’ll be at the top of the candidate pile.
